I watched, as an ordinary day
Passed with such fire
Into darkness,
Saddened that it could not stay
for me to marvel longer,
Its brief glow,
even more beautiful in its absence,
To cause one stranger to turn to another and say,
“Did you see the sky last night?”

I just love cotton candy evenings.
Wow! This sky looks woven like a tapestry caught in time. Your prose is inspirational.
Did you see the sky last night? Yes, a marvelous boiling gray here.
The sentiment so fitting to that wonderful sunset.
So very pretty Love the colors
Lovely lines... the picture... by joe is that real ????
Too good to be real eh !!
super !!
Gorgeous fiery sky!
Hitch writer--Yes, it's REAL--can you believe the color?? The heavy cloud layer must have trapped the light as the sun was setting, or perhaps reflected it, intensifying the effect. Whatever the physics behind it, it was what made heads turn in awe. And, even days later, talk about their having witnessed such a sight.
And, it seemed the perfect representation for what SkyWatch is all about--something accessible to each and every one on the planet. A beauty or mystery shared around the world, regardless of who or where you are.
Nina: You captured an amazing sky for SWF.

My blog
Dear Nina,
Your sunset is amazing.
My husband watches the sky as he goes about his day and will call me with sky reports. I love it when he calls and says, "Sun dog at one o'clock!" I often wonder if other couples share sky reports.
Thank you for a fantastic sky report. I love swf!
Sherry
Great, Nina! Isn't it amazing how quickly the sky changes right before you eyes? Glad you caught that one.
Lovely photo and poem.
You're so right about the way that nature can bring us together.
