Spot o' Sun

Winter Wrap-up

I’ve become a lot like my cats—
watching the world from a window,
waiting for a spot o’ sun.

We've got a spot o sun but alas, -17C with a windchill of -23C. Winds are to pick up to 50 km/hr. Sigh. And Mingus needing his exercise.

I'm not usually one to complain about the weather--I love the snow and the brightness it brings to an otherwise inhospitable day. But as winter hangs on, I miss the sunshine more than anything.
According to meteorological records, we get 5 days of clear skies in each month from November through March. That means 3/4 of the days will be clouded or partly clouded.
Is it any wonder I am craving a spot o' sunshine--a place to sit and feel it on my face, turn my back to it, fall asleep purring on the carpet...?

Lovely shots! I'm looking for my spot too! But more importantly looking for the north west wind to disappear!

If I was a White Throated Sparrow and I wanted to send my picture to my grandsparrows and fellow sparrows, I think I would chose this one of all others I have seen -- it gives me character and that special CEO look.

I am SO with you, sister. Sun. That's all I want. I'm tellin' ya, a visit to Florida in January is a double-edged sword. It makes Ohio look sooooo dreary...and yet it so incredibly restorative.

Nina, I am waiting for that spot 'o sun myself and just when I thought it was about to come..it rained. Pouring rain that turned to snow as the day waned! Now the winds are howling but tomorrow the sun should shine before the next storm arrives.

Great captures of all the birds and the farm. What a dreamy world it is where you live!
