There is comfort that results from order—even if that order is unclear to an outside observer.
Much, in fact most, of what I photograph fits nicely into a developing pattern. Whether birds or butterflies, hikes or paddletales—there is logic in their placement, reason in their being.
A shared element common across the page that defines them as parts of a whole.
So, what of these?
Too pretty to pass without mention, yet nothing to remark upon at length.
Except to say,
“I found them one day—glowing red in a field of green.”

Hi Nina nice pics and beuatiful thoughts Kev
That is the cutest mushroom I have ever seen - you write so well - it is a pleasure visting your blog.
Wow! I've never seen such a colorful mushroom. (Well, one that wasn't ceramic or pottery.) Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures.
Is the mushroom really that red?? (not some photoshop magic?) That is so cool! Do you think we have mushrooms like that in Minnesota? (I think my next field guide will be for mushrooms)
Pink dogwood--So you're seeing chicory on the roadsides--me, too! I think there's nothing sweeter--I love the blue!
See it here
And, yes, Ruthie, that's a red mushroom--as red as the ladybug. I'm sure the only one I've ever seen, certainly here!
Nina. Thanks. You are a gifted writer and I always read your posts twice and soak it all in.
"...“I found them one day..."
I like that. That's what we all share. What we find and hope others smile.
We do, don't we?
Hugs,
Mary
I just see your blog, your beautiful photos, super interesting, very varied and I see that we have one thing in common! love of nature. Friends ...
Excuse my English "The French PassionNature78"
Oh my goodness Nina I've never seen a red one!
With my imaginative mind I would like to think that the fairies worked overtime in painting this wee umberella!
Lady bugs are always a joy for me to see in my garden..keeping the pests away!
nice green photos.. that helps me feel better, as i'm having migraines today..
thanks for the visit and comment nina.. have great monday
Ladybugs always make me smile.
The sentiment expressed in this thoughtful post reminds me of the response a mountain climber made when asked -- Why do you climb mountains ? -- to which came the reply -- because they are there.
What better reason to photograph than to record what is there-- period.
Your writing really is lovely and your pictures superb!
Thank you for visiting my site and leaving comments.
Wow..a red mushroom and great photo of the lady beetle...
I am glad that you showed us this splash of color in the green field. I have never seen a red mushroom before, nor have I seen a red lady beetle, only orange ones. I would consider these rare finds.
Beautiful!
I love the way you see the world.
Sherry
I love looking through your eyes, coming upon pretty things and snapping a photo. Your appreciation of nature is heartwarming, and it's like medicine for my soul.
These two photos have all the classical beauty of a Japanese master. I love seeing the world through your eyes. You notice things I'd never see.
