I’ve never been especially good at making decisions.
Often, it seems, given more thought, the lines become blurred, hopelessly tangled in an inseparable mass.
The simplest task,
never quite that.
Like spinning the rounds of postcards,
standing, unsteadily beside the worn counter,
shop clerk, patiently waiting,
or perhaps not.
Is it prettier to me,
one who feasts ravenously for a handful of days,
and remembers it with a handful of postcards?

I am glad you had difficulty deciding which photos to post. I never tire of your photos. The grist mill looks like a painting waiting to happen.
There was nothing to NOT capture with my camera.
650 images remain--after already tossing a few hundred duds in the trash.
Now looking and remembering--so much beauty was there.
No worries... Your photos, any and all of them, are gorgeous....and when you add your perfect prose, or poetry, depending on day or mood, you make what was only yours, ours. And there is undeniable beauty in that gift, too.
Just another wonderful post—words and photos. Those dogwood shots are so lovely. Please show more!
I just got home from racing around, doing errands. Your words and photos have immediately calmed my heart.
Love the Grist Mill photo and the Pink Dogwood. Thanks for sharing such beauty.
I'm envious of your photographic skills, Nina. These photos are especially wonderful.
I remember those places and scenes so well. Sniff.
LIke I said, I was almost glad it was raining, because the photo ops would have been overwhelming. Yours--sooo beautiful, and calming--yes! Isn't it a blast to go through and see what every artist is coming up with? If you haven't seen Susan's montage, do go!
...so peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I could probably sit and look at the grist mill and listen to the splashing water all day.
such lovely shots you chose. i am sure we could look for endless hours at your beautiful images!
All delicious Nina, but I especially love that view from Hawk's Nest.
Lovely photos--especially of the dogwoods. What a nice trip you had.
Isn't nature's endless beauty just amazing?
I so enjoyed your words about 'picking post cards" How much truth is in that? Your photos are so beautiful and take me back... It was the best adventure... I needed time away, and it was perfect.
Gorgeous pics, as usual !
I do a lot of Oooh-ing Ahhh-ing and sighing (mental and actual) visitng your blog! These are stunning!
The flowers are lovely but the grist mill picture is perfection!
Wonderful postcards Nina! They live in my head and my heart!
I am having a blast reading about all of the bloggers who went to Va for the festival.
Wish I was there...but reading all the posts..I feel like I was able to experience a bit of what happened.
