This sky of cloud and blue,
That bends the tall grass,
Tugs the fading frond,
Carries flakes of color,
Turning them, tipping them,
Setting them to rest
within the fields of amethyst and gold,
As with a fallen leaf.

Lovely, Nina--simply lovely.
A beautiful poem Nina. The photos go with it so well. Even though you don't need pictures because you paint so vividly with words.
Beautiful and harmonic post :)
Lovely words and pictures as always, Nina. But as Lisa wrote, your words create as beautiful pictures as your photos! How delightful to be able to enjoy them both!
Have a great day!
Sylvia
Lovely photos and a lovely poem.
I enjoyed this post so much.
Beautiful photos and poetry!
A wonderful pairing of words and pictures!
And thanks for identifying the asters. I've been seeing them everywhere but had no idea what their name was.
Lovely photos and post. Every day I want to get out, ramble the woods and fields and prairie patches…take countless photos. I simply never get enough of these autumn days.
Linda, these asters (with the large darker-purpled heads) are New England Asters--important as late bloomers for butterflies--especially the Monarchs fueling for migration.
Always such a lovely place to visit! Thank you!
What beautiful photos Nina! Love that little poem also. The colors are fading fast around here. But now I can see through the woods again!! Ha!
You have such a talent to translate what you see into what we can feel.
Chris
Lovely!. The leaves in Albany, NY are near peak for fall foliage.
Very inspiring words and gorgeous photos, Nina!

So good to be back here at long last. Like a breath of fresh air.
How nice you have blend the colors together. We got the feeling that Fall is coming.

Asters are one of my favorite flower... they bloom when the other wildflowers are beginning to fade away, AND they are PURPLE (my fave)!!!
Nina--you have captured so beautifully in words and photos what I have been seeing (but not been able to photograph like you!). Thanks!
