An Appropriate Snow (SWF)

Snow on Queen Anne's Lace

Snow on Field

Sometimes snow just feels right.

In the same way that a thunderstorm
clears the heaviness from a summer day, only colder,

or the spot beneath your pillow
cools your cheek on a still, breezeless night, only fluffier,

or a bright new carpet without a step upon it
lights up the room you’ve looked at for years, only larger.

A man takes an oath for change
before a million sparkling faces standing as one.
And it feels like snow.

Snow

It's a marvel how different types of snow look different. I love new snow.

Just yesterday I was looking at a field strewn with Queen Ann's Lace laden heavy with snow and it filled my heart. But your words say it all. You are truly blessed with the gift of words. So glad I started my day with your lovely verse.

Yours is the second Queen Ann's Lace with snow that I have seen this morning. I think it is really something special.

Hats off to you Nina! You have built up and expressed your thoughts beautfully.
Your selected photos match your thoughts to perfection.

What a beautiful post! I especially love that first photo. I call snow like this - enough to be pretty, but not enough to cause a lot of trouble - "tasteful snow." Beautiful photos.
