The Spring Dance

Spring--
Day that dances,
little steps forward,
then dips quickly back
to carry its frosty blanket
into this new light.

A thin layer of ice forms on the surface of the pools each night, and disappears as the day warms and the sunshine finds its way into the woods. This morning, bubbles trapped beneath it, silver clusters, catch the first rays of light.

Nina--are those vernal pools that have ice with bubbles. I was trying to figure out what I see beneath the surface.

Love the poem! It captures this moment in the season perfectly.

I can't get over the detail in that photo with the air bubbles in the ice. I love coming to your blog because you have the uncanny ability to take the ordinary and show that it can be indeed extrodinary.

It's so coincidental that you posted bubbles under the ice. I photographed bubbles on top of the water today :o) Bubbles are great.

Wonderful post, Nina!
