No doubt thinking how big the world is!

I liked this little guy so much--watched him for quite a while, singing his heart out on the fencepost in the field.
And perfectly matching all the browns around him.

I think this post should be called "can you find the sparrow?" I thought he was on top of the post until I clicked on the pic and really saw him.
Cutie-pie. Nice pic. He (she?) does look happy.

These little fellows have been singing around here this past week. They are so cute.

Love how tiny it is and how it matches all of the browns around it. I saw a lot of sparrows today. They really do sing lovely songs!

...I really like these photos. He is such a sweet little bird and fits perfectly in the scene. The grass in the background is beautiful...

Your photos show beautifully how most of us really see birds -- as delightful, animated, happy, singing creatures that bring such joy to anyone who takes the time to watch and listen.

Even a drab sparrow is a wonder to behold.

They're singing their hearts out here, too. I adore them with their surprised eyes and tiny pink bills. They love my Zick dough, too!

Have you ever heard one sing at night? Oh, how lovely--they sing much longer, more complex songs at night.

This grassy field has a wonderful brush pile adjacent to it--a great sparrow-hiding pile, with browns and grays to match their browns and grays--until a song betrays their invisibility.
And, so eager to see more than my feeder birds, I have begun to sit back in the field later in the day.
Maybe I'll try later yet--and catch that evensong!
