Picking Postcards

I’ve never been especially good at making decisions.
Often, it seems, given more thought, the lines become blurred, hopelessly tangled in an inseparable mass.
The simplest task,
never quite that.

Like spinning the rounds of postcards,
standing, unsteadily beside the worn counter,
shop clerk, patiently waiting,
or perhaps not.

Is it prettier to me,
one who feasts ravenously for a handful of days,
and remembers it with a handful of postcards?

I am glad you had difficulty deciding which photos to post. I never tire of your photos. The grist mill looks like a painting waiting to happen.

There was nothing to NOT capture with my camera.
650 images remain--after already tossing a few hundred duds in the trash.
Now looking and remembering--so much beauty was there.

No worries... Your photos, any and all of them, are gorgeous....and when you add your perfect prose, or poetry, depending on day or mood, you make what was only yours, ours. And there is undeniable beauty in that gift, too.

LIke I said, I was almost glad it was raining, because the photo ops would have been overwhelming. Yours--sooo beautiful, and calming--yes! Isn't it a blast to go through and see what every artist is coming up with? If you haven't seen Susan's montage, do go!

...so peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I could probably sit and look at the grist mill and listen to the splashing water all day.
