Kitten talk

What young animals lack in their ability to care for themselves, nature has made up for in their essence—a need for warmth and contact, a curiosity that overcomes fear.
A loving and accepting spirit that extends beyond their kind—to draw others to them.

In their frailty, is their strength.

The barn kittens are thriving.
Five emerging personalities—all dear.
Playful and sure-footed, prancing with tails held high or tentatively reaching with one paw, exploring new worlds.
Tumbling, one over another in a rolling pile of fur.
Then, nodding into a lazy slumber.

Their gentle whispers in my ear, I understand.

The kittens will be with me for 3 more weeks--by then, I hope to have caring homes chosen for them.

What beautiful babies. I love kittens and have three grown, Bean, Mia and Leo. They are my loves, and I am very fond of our German Shepherd named Ruby Thursday. Thanks for visiting my site on Sky Watch. Your site is awesome!

I have fallen in love, again! I am a sucker (sucker, sucker, sucker) for kittens! I am presently owned by three grown cats (ages 5-9), but there is something about a kitten that just captures my heart. I am so glad you took these orphans into your care.

ahh, Puddy needs a friend, too bad we aren't closer, he gets lonely when I'm away for even a few hours.
He is my first cat! I don't know a lot about cats, but am learning.
I wonder if he'd take to a kitten or not? He is a Tuxedo. That little one you've got your hand on is a cutie, well, They all are.

I guess baby animals are cute for a good reason, huh?

Oh, how sweet. I hadn't thought of cuteness as an evolutionary adaptation, but it makes sense, particularly the more humans decide which species thrive and which wither away.

What an uplifting, delightful blog you have!
I have hummingbirds, too but never see the nest. What a joy to be able to watch them.

It is understandable where the words... 'As cute as a kitten' come from... I must admit I like kittens at this playful age.. but admire the adults for the way they are with humans

They are so precious Nina. You are such a good foster mom to find FIVE homes for them!! We have five rescued cats living with us who once were kittens. They sure have a way of winding themselves around one's heart! I put my hummingbird feeders up today..hoping to see some takers at my feeders. Love the nest you are watching too! Great photos, as always

I made the mistake of showing these photos and explaining their story to Isabelle and Lorelei. Now they want one of your kittens.
