Ugh!

The long, cool spring that caused so many to wish warmer weather upon us, has vanished--hot, humid days fill the week's forecast. And, though June is often warm, the sudden contrast that we're experiencing makes these 90+ degree days difficult, to put it mildly.

I reflect on the tender days of spring, and know that, with a good rain these skies will pass.

Until then...puttering around indoors.
And tending to chores that are easily set aside on those better outdoor days!
With dew drops to lighten my steps.

Columbine and dew

It seems like a lot of us are in the same boat. Spring whizzed past in a heartbeat and now we are wilting with the summer's heat - and it's not even truly summer yet.
Ah well, I won't complain. We had snow only 2 months ago.
Love your photos of the columbine. It looks so clear and real.

The country is a mess. Indiana received more rain in a day than NC received in nearly a year. Fires, floods, etc. What happened to spring? Am I the only one longing for Fall and Winter already? It so not normal to be 100 in June.

We'll all hang in, Nina. Lovely post.

Let's stay inside whenever we can. I just came inside after 90 minutes of "had to do" things. I love air conditioning right now.

Yep, I am in that stay inside boat too. I hate the HOT humid weather. It just kills me. I get out only during the morning hours. Oh well, I am getting my house cleaned up. That is a plus. Ha..

What freaky weather. I suppose we will just have to adapt and get along, remembering that we are far better off than many folks on the planet.

Columbine seems like such a cool-looking plant.
The leaves have a bluish cast that, when wet, almost looks frosted. The dew drops edged each leaf and ran into drops under gravity.
Even the dainty flowers with their long, slender nectar spurs.

They grow as weeds by our roadside, but each spring I scamper for their photograph.

Beautiful shots Nina! We FINALLY had a thunderstorm last night...and got a bit of relief from the heat....but it is supposed to go to 90 again today.
I can see things "browning" up around here....we need more RAIN!

Did you get any relief yet? We in the east are expecting storms this afternoon or tonight. Temps for the rest of the week will still be in the upper 80s to 90 but the humidity is supposed to drop after the storms.

The weather changes are surprising... one day cold, next day sweltering; hope it settles soon into some sort of lazy, hazy wonderful summer days.

It has cooled down at my house, low in the low 60's!
My husband and I sat on the deck this evening with sweatshirts on.
Fireflies are out and the wind is strong from the north. Very nice June evening.
Your columbine is very pretty. I also have some growing. I love the wild ones the best.

Nice shots and that high humidity makes me say Ugh too. I really wilt in it unlike your pretty columbine.

Ahhh.
High pressure has moved the heat wave past--at least for a few days.
We're breathing easier now!

Nice dew and guttation pics! We got about 3 drops of rain yesterday... just enough to make us scream!

It is ten days till summer officially begins. Ten days for the weather to get it's act together. We had snow in the passes this week.

Your dew drops are good! and the weather will be what it will be but it makes my outdoor weeding darn difficult!
Mine is here.
