A special evening, part I

I’m dressed to go out—on a date that I’ve been anticipating for several weeks now.
My favorite jeans, sweater, boots—even a hat, though I’m not usually the chic dresser.

I fuss nervously, waiting for the time to pass, browsing my stack of the latest experts’ advice for last minute tips and hints for a successful evening.
Internet photos and bios hardly seem adequate.
I hope I recognize him.

Time ticks slowly—waiting for dark.

It’s my own little secret. The girls at work wouldn’t understand. Tomorrow will be a day like any other—regardless of this night’s outcome.
But for someone like me, nights like this happen just once a year.

Rain starts to fall lightly—perfect, just perfect!

Now, where’d I leave my flashlight?

Oh,…do I look okay?

I'm sure you looked fantastic! But what did you see and hear? Any Jeffersons?

Be careful out there...rather than a knight in shining armor, he might turn out to be slimy.

I love how you wrote this and then remembered yesterdays post! Well? Can't wait to hear how it turns out! Actually . . . I tell my fellow workers when the "big night" is happening and of course they never come out!

I sense another mystery. We are excitedly awaiting the rest of the story.

I hope you meet them, Nina. You'll need the flashlight :o) You are too funny. Sweet. Be careful. And do tell your tale to the girls at work. They might raise an eyebrow or two but will find you quite intriguing, like I do.

What's not to love about salamanders.
Could there be any gentler creature with such strength and will?

And so vulnerable.
