First light

Strong arms wake and stretch
their fingers into darkness,
touching tenderly.

There's no better lighting for pictures than nature gives us early in the morning. Wonderful photographs.

I haven't mentioned it, but we do so love the hummingbird photo journal. It is delightful to watch.

Nice to see such wonderful photos of the Fly Amanita, classic example of a poisonous species. Your poem gives it a very different character as it greets first light.

Very nice capture of the light on the mushrooms. So hard to do! Read your latest post also with the birds. We used to live where there were a lot of Jays and you're right they are nasty buggers. Had to chase one away from a chipmunk one time. Sad about the babies, what a beautiful picture of them.
