Expecting

It seems today would perfect.
Blue skies and sunshine, the warmth and stillness of spring.
And if I turn from my yard work to see he's returned--perfect it will be, indeed.

Update :
My male Ruby-throated Hummingbird returned 3 days after this post.
April 23, 2008.

Oh you just reminded me to put out my hummingbird feeder! And I can't think of a more beautiful shade of pink. Congrats on your first sighting of the season.

Even though we have hummers here year round, they are still a special treat. I just posted a couple of photos yesterday, of one dipping into my fountain for a bath. I love to see them finding the flowers that are starting to bloom in the garden now.

Don't be sad, Nina, the hummers will return. I just saw our first of the year a couple of days ago. Now they seem to be all over the place.
