Nothing refreshes my mind better than a walk beneath a wide sky.
The fields bordering this lane will soon be planted--in soybeans or corn, the latter becoming so high by summer's end, that the lane becomes but a narrow path, almost swallowed by a sea of towering stalks.
But in spring, the expanse of dirt awaiting the farmer's massive machines seems to roll endlessly to the horizon.
Changing winds have scattered clouds to the east--backlit by the setting sun.
Nothing but bright blue beyond--
my thoughts of the day float away.

A panoramic SWF! Wonderful.
A great view, good job for SWF!
What a magnificent sky!
Oh, yes! Brings to mind . .
"O WORLD, I cannot hold thee close enough!
Thy winds, thy wide grey skies!"
Beautiful Nina! Your words to go with the photos are beautiful too...
Very nice post!
That is a beautiful view. You have captured the vastness of that beauty. Thanks.
Very cool panorama! How did you put them together like that?
I'm glad they're still planting crops and not McMansions in your neighborhood. Our food has to come from somewhere.
Like the sun and the rain, a beautiful sky is one of the wonderful free gifts this world gives to us, asking nothing in return.
This is a beautiful panorama, the wide view makes it much nicer than a normal shot.

Hello Nina
I think this is the first Panoramic we have had on Skywatch.. and your words complimented the picture so well...
Thank you for joining in with Sktwatch this week.. and also posting a link.

Great panoramic photo with great words with it.
Wonderful photos! You did a nice job:)
Nina: What a spectacular photo. I have this ability on my camera but never tried it. This may encourage an attemp if I ever see a shy like this.
Nina-
Do you have a Canon camera by chance?
You can stitch all the photos together for a seamless images really easily using Canon's photostich software. Check out This Site
Nina...love the panoramic! I have no idea how you did it LOL!
I've had Montana on the brain this morning and this picture fits!!
Beautiful!
I do have a Canon--but I had no idea it even had a panoramic setting when I decided to do this. The pictures (5) were taken individually and then seamed in Photoshop. (thanks to my more technosavvy husband)
I'll try the Canon program--maybe it will even the lighting?
I've never tried to do this before, but the sky seemed to always be bigger than what I was framing with each shot--a frustration in knowing the image you capture in no way compares with what you're seeing!
Interesting post, excellent picture, well done.
Wonderful!
I have done this too a couple of times. Gives great photos!
Nice post!

Your posts are such a tease - I've been stuck in a fast-moving, busy European city - happy to be there in the rich panorama of history then I check-in at Nature Remains and there you are in your magical vernal pools teeming with life and those amazing things that come out of the hidden shadows of nature to explore your world and I am so damn envious!!!! I would give up a hundred splendid days in European cities for one afternoon among your vernal world.
Welcome to Skywatch - glad to see you here.
Wide as the sky, wide as my heart, open to natue, open to you. ~Kathiesbirds: Nina, your photo is inspirational!
I can see why you would enjoy walking under this sky. This is a wonderful shot.

Your post in only small!!!
You did a stunning job. I have only done that with two photos and it turned out rather well. I am envious. The photos, too, are great!

I couldn't agree more, wide open spaces are good for the body and mind. A really lovely photo, I wish I had seen it too.
a spectacular and inspiring view!
Great panoramic photo. A farmer would look at that sky and think rain is coming soon (within 8 hours I think for a "macaroni" sky). Did it rain soon after that?
Way cool!
