A forecast of 2 days' rain brought heavy clouds to Tuesday's sunrise.
I watched as a pink sky dissolved, and the sun rose, backed by blue.
Damp laundry, pulled in haste from the clothesline, waits for a day of certain sunshine.
While the evergreens, one by one, become skeletons.
Waiting for rains that never come.
Missed, again.
See more Skywatch here.

If you had left the clothes on the line, it surely would have rained!
Oh, Ruth--I wish you had suggested that earlier! That certainly would have brought the rain! :-)
The sky is beautiful nonetheless. I love the blue almost as much as the pink.
The sky is really beautiful
We got just enough sprinkles to wet the sidewalks.
Should have left the clothes out !
Nice photos.
Nice "Sky Watch" today.
Come visit our , Horizontal Light.

Nice photos. I feel badly for the evergreens, but they make a lovely silhouette!
nice shots
I hope you stop by at my SWF post also in HERE. Thanks
I really like the last one! Stunning shot!~Mine is posted HERE. Happy SWF!~
I think even dark skies can be beautiful! Happy Sky Watch!
Lovely dramatic skies
Nina: I like that shot with the blue trying to force through the clouds.
Very dramatic with that deep shade of indigo. I love it :)
Very moody.

These rae lovely photographs, thanks,
Ray
The sky is beautiful as it is. Happy skywatching.
Beautiful blues!!!
Wonderful series, so dramatic! My favorite is the last picture.
Beautiful skies. It has rained all week here...maybe get out and do a rain dance...kidding. We needed the rain, but it is gloomy here again today. Happy SWF.
Beautiful! :) I love the texture of the clouds.
Very, very nice. Beautiful skies! Happy SWF!
I'm about to take my clothes off and start raindancing. 5 years of drought is no joke and a hot summer coming up. we barely have enough reserves tor the house . There's nothing for the garden and trees are dead or dieing.
At least the clouds made for good photos.
Beautiful light and clouds. Well done :-)
I really like this "line" of clouds. Beautiful pictures
Oh wow! Those are such beautiful clouds. :) Amazing!
We finally got a bit of rain last night. I hope it moves on over to your area Nina. You have promising skies.
Yes, missed again, but the skies you were watching were beautiful.
I really like your SWF shots...
Nice shot. I really like the blue clouds and sky.
Lovely shots of a deep blue sky and white clouds!
Beautiful blue and white design, reminds me of a pretty pattern-ware plate I have.
Gorgeous, gorgeous Skywatch! Lovely, dramatic photos! I loved them! Sorry you didn't get the rain you wanted.
Marie
Very powerful skies. Love the deep blue hues.
That color is a beautiful rich blue... I know that doesn't dissolve the fact that rain is imminent but at least it isn't snow! =)

Beautiful peaceful looking photos for sky watch friday. Thanks for sharing this pretty view with us all.
Oh my this is fabulous. The sky is beautiful and so blue.
This is my first SWF and I do so hope you will drop by.

Thanks for getting up so early so that we could enjoy this also!!
Actually I think that's a very dramamtic sky, great snaps
There's nothing like "clothesline" dried clothes. It smells so good, and fresh. Sadly, you can't do that in Florida: its too damp, and also against neighborhood ordinances.
with clothing on the line it will usually pour down great colors in those clouds! happy SWF~
These are beautiful shots and perfect blue. Love it!
No rain, but your sky is a beauty!
I hope you get rain soon - there's a system moving here tomorrow from the west but I don't recall how far north it is. I know what it's like to wish on rain.
I know how you feel, Nina. We're in need of rain where I live, too. The clouds are sure pretty, just the same.
What wonderful clouds.
lovable sky shots, and yes, moody.
After a long way of scrolling down, which was worth while, I can say that your photos are stunning!
Have a great weekend!
Your pictures are very pretty...TC
Great shots....I'm waiting, too. We had a few drops the other night.
Oooh, I love that sky.
Lovely shot. So much going on in that sky.
Very sorry to hear you're in a drought. Your photos here are stunning. I like the dead tree silhouetted against the intriguing clouds. Happy SkyWatching!
Someone has probably already suggested this... Leave the clothes on the line if you want it to rain. Works every time for me. Or wash the car.
Lovely photos. I'm sorry the clouds didn't bring you the rain you need.
Beautiful images, Nina! We've had a pretty strange summer of big rain / no rain / big rain / no rain. After all the water we got with Ike last month, we hadn't had another drop in over a month until earlier this week. Then the bottom dropped out. Now we're back into "no rain for the foreseeable future."
Hope y'all get some wet stuff soon!
~Kyle
Kyle--the weatherman has found a "disturbance in the atmosphere"--predicting a "few drops" tonight. Yippee!
I agree with Ruth, you should have left the washing out! Then you would have definitely got rain! Beautiful series of photos.
Yes, the lack of rain - to those of us in the East - is strangely disquieting. I am from New Jersey, usually well-watered, and these endless series of dry, sunny days are getting me down. The natural world is suffering too.
Here's hoping for a lengthy rain, even a chill one!
When I want it to rain I put the clothes on the line, it never fails. Your pictures are gorgeous, I love the first picture with the barn.
That sky looks like a sea of tattered cotton indigo! It's lovely! Sorry you didn't get any rain though.
